About Dr. Portillo

Dr. Portillo obtained her degree in dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where she excelled as a student leader and graduated with multiple scholarships, recognitions, and honors. She went on to complete her dental residency at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from her hometown of New York City. She has training in various dental fields such as cosmetic procedures, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and dental surgery, with an interest in implants. In fact, she supplemented her training by completing a 300-hour continuing-education course focused on dental implants, and is passionate about keeping up to date with continuing education courses to advance her knowledge and improve her techniques.

Dr. Portillo chose dentistry because she wanted to help people and enjoys providing continuity of care to her patients, while helping to eliminate dental stigmas with her warm, honest, educational, and patient approach.
She is a big advocate for preventative dentistry and working with patients to meet their individual needs and visions for themselves. She also enjoys the personal aspects of dentistry. At University of Pennsylvania and Englewood Hospital, she treated people with disabilities, as well as children and elderly patients, so feels confident being able to work with people of all ages and backgrounds. Her goal is to provide everyone with the care they deserve.

Dr. Portillo has an interest in helping people in underserved areas. She has volunteered her dental skills to improve the quality of life for members of Philadelphia’s Latinx communities. During her free time she enjoys to travel, read, hike, snowboard, and spend quality time with her family and pets.
